For those who didn't make it to the shore this weekend...

Such a delight were these graceful shorebirds at sunset. I took these photos near Sandy Point, West Haven, Connecticut. Lengthiest subject is a determined Snowy Egret, trying all manners of forays in and out of the water in pursuit of the ultimate dinner. Later he joins a colony of swans who eye him suspiciously and off to the side, a community of gulls teaches their teenaged young how to fly.
