Goodbye Stanley Whitman House

I had such a wonderful little exhibit there at that beautiful little historical house in Farmington The exhibit was called. "Song of the Snowbird" and featured many of the winter songbirds I've photographed in the past two years.  I shared the room with some amazing Christmas Decorations! Stanley Whitman's gracious staff were endlessly helpful and creative. Ever time I stopped by they had re-invented the room!  During the exhibitWe "The Birds Who Came to Dinner," a video of all my "backyard visitors."

Snow is Me!

Female Cardinal

 "Where is my breakfast?"

Always survivors, these birds must be wondering where their next meal is coming from.  Here are our friends, female cardinal, beautifully colored in red and tan, as well as the familiar Pine Siskins looking out over the snow.

Stuffed after Christmas Dinner

I realize if I wait much longer to add to my blog it will be 2011 so I better act quick!
White-throated sparrow
I had Christmas dinner with some lovely friends and am really stuffed. So I have included a totally fat white-throated sparrow who illustrates my condition exactly! How huge these little birds become in winter. It's a protective pattern which insulates them from the cold. I think of it as having had some darn good dinners.

Beautiful Mandarin, Trumpeter Swan and Barrows Goldeneye
